Avanti Rhythmics runs three Programs We have worked hard to ensure that each program allows for the best possible training environment for all the girls and will enable them to advance their Rhythmic Gymnastics skills and develop to their fullest potential. The Recreational Program No experience needed This class is dedicated for girls aged 5-6/7 It is a basic introduction to both body and apparatus skills - ribbon, ball, hoop, rope and clubs. It is a fun class whilst still learning the fundamental beginnings of Rhythmics i.e. stretching, balancing, leaping, hand eye coordination, ballet, dance and the collaboration of group routines for an end of year concert performance. Girl's progress and skills will be monitored continually. The Development Squad Program This class is designed as an extension of the recreational class that runs on a monday and wednesday. Girls are selected from the recreational class that are showing the physical and mental characteristics of a young gymnast with future potential. In the development class girls compete only once or twice a year in October in the group division. This gives the girls a gentle progression into the individual levels division the following year. The Levels Program No experience needed This class is designed for girls aged 7 and up. It is structured for girls wanting to learn all there is to learn about Rhythmic Gymnastics as well as going into the competition area (which at Avanti, starts at 7 and finish's at approximately 18 or older) They will learn all the disciplines of the sport including ballet, dance, gymnastics, and total body work. They learn many choreographed routines accompanied by music, performance work, and the fundamental skills that will allow them to progress throughout the years into the beautiful arena of Rhythmic Gymnastics! They follow an annual training plan outlining body and apparatus technique and overall body preparation training. We focus on the development of specific Rhythmic Gymnastics skills - flexibility, overall coordination, balance, ballet/dance/expressive movements and strength training. Girl's progress and skills will be monitored continually.
